Katrina McClain Award Watch List — Junior Naz Hillmon was named to the Katrina McClain Award watch list for the second time in her career after finishing as one of five finalists for the award last season. The award recognizes the top power forward in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball, named after the two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year. Hillmon was named the Preseason Big Ten Co-Player of the Year by the conference coaches on Nov. 10 as well as being named the preseason All-Big Ten team by both the coaches and media. Hillmon ranked in the top-five in the Big Ten in scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounding (8.7 rpg) and field-goal percentage (.567) as a sophomore. She led the league and ranked 13th nationally in offensive rebounds per game, grabbing 4.3 per contest. The junior from Cleveland started all 32 games, scoring in double figures 28 times with 11 double-doubles. She topped the 20-point mark 14 times, highlighted by a 30-point, 10-rebound performance against No. 18 Iowa (Feb. 2). She was unanimously named to the All-Big Ten first team by both the coaches and media, while earning WBCA All-America honorable mention. The watch list features 20 power forwards to start the season and will be pared to 10 in February. In March, five finalists will be named before the committee and McClain pick the winner.

Amy Dilk (Nov. 9)

Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List — Junior Amy Dilk was named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list for the first time in her career. The award recognizes the top point guard in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball, named after the 1996 Hall of Famer. Dilk is coming off a sophomore campaign where she earned All-Big Ten second-team honors (coaches) after averaging 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 34.7 minutes per game. She started all 32 games at the point for U-M, scoring in double figures 21 times and finishing fifth in the league in assists per game. The watch list features 20 point guards to start the season and will be pared to 10 in February.
